Fire Exit Signs
Fire exit signs communicate to the public where the closest exit is for evacuation of a building in case of fire or emergency.
Fire exit signs to move people to safety are recognised by the words ‘FIRE EXIT’ in white text on a green background. Fire signs which have a red background and a left or right arrow advise the location of fire alarms and firefighting facilities and comply with AS 1319.
Braille signs are also available and comply with BCA 2011 Volume One, Section D3.6, of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standard AS 1428.1.
